Dr Tom is an experienced, registered Osteopath who holds three Bachelors degrees in Clinical Science and Biomedicine and has over 20 years of experience in private practice and in hospital settings.
Tom is passionate about complex diagnosis and management of his patients applying Osteopathic principles and philosophy.
Tom is fluent in English and Greek.
Dr Tom Katsapis holds a Bachelor of Biomedicine from Monash University, majoring in Anatomy, Pathology and Physiology, and has worked in Anatomical Surgical Histopathology for Trezise and Dorevitch Pathology. He also holds a double degree in Bachelor of Applied Science (Clinical Science)/Bachelor of Osteopathic Science from RMIT and over twenty years of clinical experience as a registered Osteopath.
Due to his diverse experience, Dr Tom utilises a unique approach providing primary healthcare in his clinical practice integrating Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Functional Pathology, Exercise Science and Rehabilitation.
Dr Tom has pioneered co-working relationships with well-respected Melbourne Orthopaedic Specialists to assist in delivery of complete care for patients who require a specialists' attention for conditions requiring a specialist opinion regarding management and intervention, including rehabilitation protocols.
Additionally, Dr Tom has extensive knowledge in the area of Sports Medicine and is the co-founder of Elite Athlete Management Systems (EAMS™) where he integrates his knowledge for elite adult and young athletes in a team approach. This consists of extensive primary consultation, medical screening, orthopaedic, neurological, radiological and physical examination, preparation of functional exercises assisting in injury prevention, neuromechanical connection, strength/conditioning and recovery systems.
