High Powered Laser Therapy

Harnessing the EMS Dolorclast® High Power Laser, our Osteopaths are able to treat patients who present with acute inflammatory conditions, such as bursitis and pain relief.

The Dolorclast® Laser works by emitting a 905nm light directly to the site of injury. This wavelength has been specifically chosen as research has shown this to be the optimal setting to interact with nociceptors deep in the body, inhibiting them and therefore providing pain relief within only 3 minutes of application.

Dolorclast® High-Powered Laser therapy has been seen to reduce the amount of Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2), which is a fatty acid derivative responsible for mediating acute inflammation through dilation and increased permeability of blood vessels. Laser acts on PGE2 similarly to how traditional NSAIDs (Painkillers) do, drastically reducing pain, inflammation and initiating the healing process.

How long does it take?

The laser is emitted over 6 minutes with patients experiencing pain relief instantaneously, a decrease in inflammation is seen 60 minutes post treatment, leading to faster absorption of oedema and quicker healing response to damaged tissue  

Is it painful?

No!  The high power laser is completely painless.
