SHOCKWAVE THERAPY

Radial Shockwave Therapy

EMS Dolorclast® Radial ShockWave therapy is an adjunctive therapy, administered by applying a hand-held probe directly over the injured tissue. The probe delivers high-energy sound-waves or “shockwaves” to the area, penetrating down to the injured tissue, which reduces pain level and stimulates the bodies natural healing process.

It has been shown to have great therapeutic outcomes for a range of chronic Musculoskeletal conditions, including but not limited to:

Osteopaths are able to treat patients who present with chronic injuries.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The “shockwaves” breakdown Substance P (a chemical needed to feel pain). With complete depletion of substance P, pain pathways are altered reducing the level of pain felt. The treatment also sees vascularisation and osteoneogenesis occur, increasing blood flow, reduces inflammation, stimulates collagen release and dissolution of calcium build up, all of which are create the perfect conditions for optimal healing in the body.

ARE THERE DIFFERENT SHOCKWAVE MACHINES?

There are a range of different shockwave machines on the market and after some extensive research we are confident in stating that DolorClast® shockwave machines are in our opinion the top of the line in radial shockwave therapy.

There is no expense spared when it comes to our patients outcomes, so making sure we purchased the best machine possible was of the upmost importance to us.
